Know more about Magnolia

I noticed this beautiful white coloured flowers on the tree almost daily along side of the roads. It’s striking similarity to lotus was very attractive and it’s splendid beauty will charm you for sure.

This is a #Magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora). In San diego (Zone 10a) you can see them growing along road side. In US, It is used as ornamental tree.

In India this tree has a very fragrant species called hem champa (Magnolia Champaca) . This species bore yellow and white flower. Very fragrant and thick petal flower. An early bud of hem champa looks like below

This tree is not commonly available in India.
