Three pest controlling solution every home gardener must know
|Hello Gardeners,
Last year I was challenged by caterpillars and fungal infestation in my garden. Lost some of the fruits before harvest. So, I did my research and created the list of common pest controlling solutions for every home or hobby gardeners. They are as follows
- Neem Oil
- Spinosad
- Bt( Bacillus thuringiensis)
Interesting things are , They are natural and organic.
I have been a regular user of Neem oil in my garden on flowering plants. Click Neem Oil In Gardening for my notes which I update regularly.
Spinosad is an insecticide which do not harm beneficial insect but help control beetle, caterpillar and thrips pests.

Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) – It is a pesticide which helps in controlling caterpillar.

Please note, spray the Bt where the infestation is. Do not spray it all over you might end up hurting butterfly larvae.
I am an avid user of Insecticide soap solution (water + dish soap + baking soda) every twice a week in Spring and Summer but sometimes It fails to control rapid growth of caterpillar, beetle and thrips. With my limited experience with Spinosad and Bt, I would advice use them when it is needed.
If you are a frequent user of Spinosad and Bt in your daily gardening please share your experience with us. Let’s learn from each other.
Happy Gardening!!
